Sound Healing

About

Tibetan bowl and forks

A sound bath, or sound healing, is a relaxing, meditative practice that uses therapeutic sound frequencies to support the body’s natural relaxation and healing responses. Instruments such as crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, tuning forks, and percussion create vibrations that can calm the nervous system, ease stress and anxiety, reduce tension, and promote mental clarity, grounding, and improved sleep. While it may feel modern, sound therapy has been used for thousands of years and is supported by research showing its ability to slow breathing, relax brainwaves, and enhance overall wellbeing. Sound healing is safe and accessible for most people and is especially helpful for beginners to meditation, as it requires only listening and presence rather than technique or discipline. Though it is not a medical treatment, those who are pregnant, have epilepsy, or use medical devices such as pacemakers should consult a doctor before attending a session. A sound bath typically involves lying or sitting comfortably on the floor with eyes closed, so wearing soft layers and bringing a yoga mat, blanket, or pillow can help you fully relax.

Sessions

Bret Spatula sound healing

Sound healing services are primarily offered through public group sessions held at rotating locations such as yoga studios, community centers, and wellness shops throughout Ventura and Los Angeles. These group sound baths use a variety of instruments and frequencies designed to support the collective energy of the room, with pricing varying by venue. In addition to public sessions, sound healing is available for special events and gatherings, including corporate offsites, weddings, memorials, and collaborative workshops with other healing practitioners. Private one-on-one sessions are also available on a limited basis and offer a more personalized experience in your home or chosen location. If you're interested in scheduling a private sound bath, looking for a practitioner to provide sound healing at your location, or you simply have a question, please don't hesitate to reach out through the Contact page.
